Deputy Headteacher - Specialist Education

Specialist Education | KS1 - KS3
Location: Stoke on trent
Salary: £55K + Benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading provider of specialist education to recruit an outstanding Deputy Headteacher for one of their high-performing schools. This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership position within an organisation that is committed to transforming the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

About the Role
As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a central role in the strategic and operational leadership of the school. You will support the Headteacher in delivering an ambitious vision for inclusive, high-quality education and act as a trusted leader within the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong, values-led leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the school and deputising for the Headteacher when required
  • Leading on curriculum development and driving academic progress across all key stages
  • Monitoring pupil outcomes and championing high standards in teaching and learning
  • Supporting the development and performance of teaching and support staff
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement planning and policy development
  • Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and promoting a safe, nurturing environment for all students
About You
We’re looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about specialist education and ready to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate will:
  • Have senior leadership experience within a school setting
  • Demonstrate a successful track record of raising standards and leading school improvement
  • Bring deep knowledge of the OFSTED framework and ISS
  • Have experience managing safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion across a school
  • Understand the SEND Code of Practice and how to support children with diverse learning needs
  • Be confident in staff management, curriculum planning, and whole-school leadership
