Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, compassionate, and dynamic Children’s Home Manager to lead and manage the service.

As the Children's Home Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young residents.

You will lead a team of dedicated staff, ensuring that the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of support staff, providing supervision, training, and guidance.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the children’s home, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children in our care.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans for each resident, ensuring their emotional, educational, and social development.
  • Ensure the home is compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations (Ofsted, safeguarding, health and safety).
  • Work closely with families, social workers, and other external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and operational processes effectively.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and positive behaviour among staff and children.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 2 years of management experience in a children’s residential setting, with a proven track record in safeguarding and managing care.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential. Additional relevant qualifications in child protection or related fields are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and make difficult decisions.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures, Ofsted regulations, and the challenges facing children in care.
